Why routines help
What happens at the same time every day doesn’t need a fresh decision each time. That saves energy for the things that really need your attention.
A sample morning routine
A morning routine doesn’t have to be long:
| Step | Duration |
|---|---|
| Glass of water, open the window | 5 min |
| Exercise or a short walk | 20 min |
| Breakfast | 15 min |
| Plan the day | 5 min |
How to make it stick
- Start with two or three steps
- Tie it to a fixed anchor, such as “after getting up”
- Keep the steps in the same order
- Only add more once the sequence feels natural
Evening routine
In the evening a short wrap-up helps: what is still open, what is coming tomorrow? Roughly planning the next day means starting the morning without overthinking.
